Breaking chains, one at a time…

Ronny is now sponsored for Christmas!

Entry written by David Logue

At the beginning of each week, Ronny hops on a three-hour bus ride to the southern part of the country, Chouloteca, to buy lemons. Then he jumps on the bus back to sell the lemons here within the downtown area to earn money to eat for the rest of the week.

This 17-year-old seems very tender-hearted, yet at the same time still very reserved. He first showed up at Breaking Chains just to sleep for the night, but God has allowed us to touch his life. Two weeks ago, Ronny asked to stay on a more permanent basis.

Over the past few weeks, we have watched Ronny start to come out of his shell a bit more each day. Every morning before going out to sell his lemons, he is one of the first ones to do his chores and always makes sure its good enough with one of us.

Last week, Ronny went with a group of us to build a house, and let me tell you that boy could work! He was there, passing boards and nailing nails like a pro! It was amazing to watch him work!

Please pray that God allows us to have a breakthrough with Ronny, that he will open up and share his story, that he will allow God into his heart to repair whatever it is that’s holding him back.

  1. I wish to sponsor Ronny. if someone else has already sponsored him, I will sponsor any other child or teen. Thanks for this opportunity and thanks for all you do.
